EXHIBITION “LIKE LAYERS OF ALLUVIUM”
With the mission of opening up the opportunities for everyone to enjoy art and beauty, from February 14 to April 15, 2025, Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA) is honored to present the lacquer painting exhibition “LIKE LAYERS OF ALLUVIUM” - a tribute to three decades of paintings by artists Trịnh Tuân and Công Kim Hoa.
The exhibition “LIKE LAYERS OF ALLUVIUM” embraces love, passion, and aesthetic values, featuring nearly 100 works that reflect the artistic transformations throughout the careers of Trịnh Tuân and Công Kim Hoa.
The exhibition unfolds like a slow-motion film, revisiting their creative journey and deep connection with lacquer, a material that has long been a symbol of the love between the two artists, their love for nature, and their love for Hanoi – the land that gave birth to, nurtured, and witnessed their growth.
The two artists have been together since their university days, and for over thirty years, they have dedicated their youth to spreading their passion for lacquer art to numerous generations of students and art enthusiasts. The lacquer works of Trịnh Tuân and Công Kim Hoa have often appeared in large-scale exhibitions at both national and international levels, however, this is the first time their works are being fully presented in a thematic exhibition in Vietnam. This collaboration not only inspires art practitioners but also provides an opportunity for the public in Hanoi to admire the lacquer art’s masterpieces.
During the exhibition, VCCA will also organize a variety of educational events such as art talks, exhibition tours, and workshops, aiming to bring art closer to the public.
The exhibition “LIKE LAYERS OF ALLUVIUM” is open to public from February 14th to April 15th, 2025, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily, at Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA) - B1 Floor - R3, Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, 72A Nguyễn Trãi, Thanh Xuân, Hà Nội.
