ARTIST TALK – SANDRINE & PHI PHI OANH – A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW
The artist talk helps audiences better understand about the differences in cultural perspectives during the process of composition of two female artists.
Sandrine is a French-Vietnamese artist graduated from the École Pilote Internationale d'Art et de Recherche - Villa Arson. She experimented a variety of different forms of artistic practice, in which show the strong mark of Western philosophy.
American -Vietnamese artist Phi Phi Oanh with a journey of persisting in re-establishing Vietnam's lacquer paintings through extremely new practices, is considered the representative of the new generation who communicate with lacquer artworks by artist Nguyen Gia Tri in a exhibition organized by the National Gallery of Singapore (13/06 – 03/09).
