“It is the closest instrument to the human voice, and the things you can do on the cello... there are endless possibilities.” — Stjepan Hauser
Exploring the incredible versatility of cello, cellist Bryan Charles Wilson will take the audience into the colourful melody of this instrument through his Western classical music; Bryan's compositions have a unique-diverse style, combined with the familiar melodies of lyrical Vietnamese songs. In addition, an interactive performance by Bryan Charles Wilson and Dan Do artist group will bring an interesting dialogue between the language of cello, a Western classical instrument, and language of Vietnamese bamboo instruments capturing indigenous spirit.
We invite you to VCCA's first art program in the new year 2024, "Thien Thanh", where beautiful musical melodies blend with the passionate sounds of Spring, stirring the joy of heaven, earth, grass and trees in an endless blue colour of life.

Dan Do group includes artists Nguyen Duc Minh, Dinh Anh Tuan Nguyen Quang Su, who explore musical works, movements and performances with bamboo material. The name Dan Do originates from the image of a fish-catching instrument made from bamboo. From this source of inspiration, artists created a rustic musical instrument with the breath of Bamboo and Earth, Dan Do instrument, then they added the Nieu instrument (đàn Niêu), Lan drum (trống Lăn), Do gong (chiêng Đó)....All of these instruments carry folk materials and love for indigenous culture.
Artists have brought the traditional story of Dan Do into the contemporary flow from the raw materials of alluvium and soil. Using modern compositions, they convey a rustic native breath to create touching music. As true artists, their world is not limited to what is already in their possession, but even the most rudimentary and rough materials can turn emotions into heart-touching sounds.
