"TOUCH - VIBRATION" PERFORMANCE

VCCA proudly presents "Touch - Vibration", a series of impromptu interactive performances taking place in the exhibition space "Xe Đạp Ơi" by Vietnamese-born French artist Thu Van Tran, with the music of the performer Bui Linh Ha and the voice of stage artist Nguyen Hoa My.

Blended in nostalgia is not only memory of an individual but also of humanity, resulted from collision and mingle of stories and emotions, including obsessive rubber plantations, the traumatic Agent Orange, the continuation of the deadlock between the two historical periods, expectations and despair...

The installations of Thu Van Tran, thus, also evokes memories of Marguerite Duras in her novel "A dam against the Pacific", which will be used as material for the interactive performance by artists Linh Ha and Hoa My.

The two artists will improvise with the words in the novel imbued with gentle but also intense memories of colonial Indochina by famous French writer Marguerite Duras.

A narrator and a singer, through personal lenses, mingling with the memories of Thu Van Tran and Duras. The performance opens an interactive space between various materials: body, voice, utterance and electronic music. Hoa My and Linh Ha will not only improvise with the memories of Thu Van Tran and words of Duras, but also with each other and viewers of the exhibition.

After all, "Exhibition is for people to live and share more than to see" (Artist Thu Van Tran).
