SCREENING: "THE KID" (1921) - CHARLIE CHAPLIN

Join Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA), and Chùm Nho Cinema (CNC) for ourScreening event with a childhood film that is100 years of age: “The Kid” (1921).

Charlie Chaplin, whose full name is Charles Spencer Chaplin Jr. KBE, is also known in Vietnam asVua hề “Sác-lô” (based on a fictional character created by Charlie Chaplin). He is a familiar figure, closely linked to the childhoods of the 80s and 90s generations, having made frequent appearances on television programs during a time when "watching television" was still a popular activity. While

high-speed computers and smartphones have provided us with greater access to wider knowledge, they have also unintentionally caused us to overlook older values. The CNC#7 screening serves as an invitation to revisit the childhood memories of adults, while also offering a gateway for younger audiences to experience the humorous and poignant silent comedy of the legendary Charlie Chaplin.
