The exhibition ‘FORMAT’

From 12/05/2021, the exhibition ‘FORMAT’ by Hanoi French institution - L’Espace along with Vincoms Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA) will introduce 8 photography projects by 8 visual artists, bringing a new point of view on how photography is done and opens new conversations for the photography community along with the audience.

At a time where people are separated more and more, both mentally and physically due to the effects of the pandemic and technological innovations, artists have chosen a response with their own flow and direction, turning the process of photography into a solution to find a connection between people.  Artists use a few experiments in photography to emphasize the correlation between them, nature and the environment around them; others use the definitions of photography to find the links between family and tradition, meanwhile through observation and self reflection, wittingly highlights social paradoxes. ‘To follow the rules and use materials that we call modern photography is to admit and respect the variation of the human experience. And the complexity, while expressing emotions that artists show in their works, also lets us see that this is the proof for all these valuable experiences’ Shares curator Mai Nguyen Anh.

The exhibition features works by artists Nguyễn Phương & Joseph Gobin, Duy Phương, Yến Dương, Trần Lê Quỳnh Anh, Prune Phi, Duy Tuấn and Alexandre Dupeyron.

The exhibition is open from 12/05/2021 to 12/06/2021 at Vincoms Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA), B1-R3 Vincom Royal City, 72 Nguyễn Trãi, Thanh Xuân, Hà Nội.
