WORKSHOP "PRINTING WITH CLAY"

VCCA is pleased to present workshop "Printing with clay" led by visual artist Din (Nguyễn Thị Tuệ Thư). The workshop will take place at 2:00 PM on September 21st.

 

Relief print is generally used with materials such as wood, rubber and plaster, etc. This workshop is an opportunity for you to learn and practice this technique with a new medium: clay, which is both easy to find in Vietnam and environmentally friendly. Clay can be reused for several times, let you form the template more easily as well as create as many as prints as you want.

Din (Nguyễn Thị Tuệ Thư) is a visual artist, whose primary medium is printmaking. Din's work is a fusion of contemporary concepts using traditional techiques including Mokuhanga, paper making, etc. Her work has been exhibited in Tokyo, Kyoto, Kawasaki, Chiba (Japan), Dublin (Ireland), London (UK), and Hanoi (Vietnam).

 

Din was born in Hanoi, Vietnam and came to Japan for her study in fine arts. She received her B.F.A in printmaking from Wako University in Tokyo in 2015 and her M.F.A in Studio Arts-Concentration in Printmaking at Tokyo University in 2017. Currently, she is living and working in Hanoi, Vietnam.
