ART TALK "VAN GOGH AND HIS SELF-DISCOVERY THROUGH ART EXPERIMENTATION"
"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." - Vincent van Gogh.
The legacy left by van Gogh today is in fact the result of a persistent creating process, with a tireless effort of exploring and experimenting. It is fascinating to see his inspiration shape his work throughout his career. When being inspired by an outside idea or influence, he would experiment with it over and over until it captured how he felt about a subject. Van Gogh tried really hard to understand his subjects symbolically and then tried to recreate the essence of it in his work. You can see his mindset and inspiration evolve literally every year - all of it reflected in the style of his paintings - each year growing more and more distinct.
VCCA is pleased to present "Van Gogh and His Self-discovery through Art Experimentation" - a talk led by Alexia Serpentini, an artist, independent developer and researcher, to help you better understand the art of Vincent van Gogh, one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.
